    Description

16 Pieces Stippled Rose “S” Pattern 1930 Depression Glass Macbeth-Evans.
    4 cups; 4 saucers; 4 bread & butter plates 6 in.; 4 luncheon plates. 8 in.
The Stipple Rose or “S” pattern of glassware was made by MacBeth-Evans in 1930-33. The pattern features a stippled band of roses that circle the rim. The etched 1/2 inch band is intersected in eight places with a single open rose with heart shaped petals. Each blossom is flanked by a leafy vine that ends in an upward curl. Each rose is framed too and bottom by a three leaf curled vine. The center bottom of the saucers and plates are designed with a stippled rose design that is similar, but not identical to the band. As you run your fingers lightly over the rim you can feel the subtle ripple extending to the ridge. This is one of the most beautiful glassware designs if the period and is a favorite of collectors.
The condition is used but this collection is in excellent condition based on age. Minimal scratching may be found with scrutiny but there are no obvious blemishes, no cracks, chips, or discoloration. This is an excellent opportunity to build upon a collection or begin a new one!
