1920s Macbeth-Evans cremax 8 panel glass shade w/ birds, 10 1/2 ", hand paint NR

Description

The shape of this lovely Macbeth-Evans cremax glass shade reminds me of an old time street lamp globe.  This shade dates to the 1920s and is made from an opaque ivory colored glass that looks like custard glass to me.  There are 8 hand painted panels, 4 have colorful birds (blue, red, green) perched in green foliage and the other 4 panels have leaves and branches.  If this long-tailed bird was green I'd say it might be a quetzal because of the crest on its head but it could also be the artist's vision of a bird-of-paradise.  This shade is 10 & 1/2 inches long and 7 inches wide across at the top (or about 7 & 1/2 inches if measured point to point).  I measured 23 inches around the widest part of the top's 8 panels and the outside diameter of the top opening is almost 3 & 15/16 inches.
This antique shade is in excellent condition with just very minimal paint loss on the birds.  I don't see any cracks or repairs and the top opening only has some small fleabites that are easier felt than seen.  I've included a close-up photo of what I thought was a little chip but the curved edges are smooth so it may just be from a small defect in the mold.  Overall this shade is quite nice and I think the winning bidder will be very pleased when they see it in person.
This glass shade weighs just under 2 pounds and it will be very carefully packed so it travels safely.  The package will weigh between 3 and 4 pounds and shipping to US bidders will be by your choice of Retail Ground or Priority Mail (see eBay's shipping calculator for ALL your options).  International shipping must be by either Priority Mail International or Priority Mail Express International (not First Class mail) so that the item is insured.  Although Post Office rates keep going up, kindly be assured that I will make every effort to only charge you the same amount that the PO charges me.  And did you know that eBay keeps some of the money that you pay me for shipping?  I do not pass these charges on to you or make any profit on shipping and I do not charge any handling fee.
