JEWISH FAMILY Antique Photo BROOKLYN STUDIO 13”x10” JUDAICA Painted Backdrop
Original 13.5” x 10” Card Mounted Photograph circa 1920 from Goldenberg’s Photo Studio, 954 Sutter Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.
A large multi-generational Jewish family gathered before a Seder table set with holiday Yom Tov candles, red wine, and matzoh. The bearded Rabbinical man at the center is wearing a white Tallit (prayer shawl) and Bukharian kippah yarmulke (hat) often worn by the Sephardim. Two women are holding photographic portraits. Behind the family is a large elaborate hand painted photo backdrop.
VERY GOOD Condition: antique photograph has edgewear, small chips and closed tears to the edges, a 1” closed edge tear in the left margin affecting the shoulder area of the young girl at the far left, the cardboard mount has edgewear/chips and a 1.5” x 7” piece of the left bottom corner is missing but the image in not affected, and the paper studio label affixed to the rear has a piece missing but is still legible, overall a clean, clear, bright, rare original photograph.
