MacBeth-Evans Pink Thistle Pattern Solid Foot 13” Cakeplate in  Excellent Condition. It has no cracks, chips or scuffs but does have a few light scratches from cutting slices of cake on it but still shows off it's delicate thistle pattern beautifully. It was very difficult to get an overall picture of the pattern but even Gene Florence complained about the same thing in his books on "Depression Glassware". MacBeth Evens was a glass plant in Charleroi, PA where I live and I worked there as a glass selector when it was a Corning facility in the early 90's but has now been sold again along with their whole consumer division but still makes Pyrex products as it has since they were developed. There is a picture of the rim of this cake plate that shows a line in it but it is not a crack but a tiny line of melted glass that was left on as it was released from the mold. If you run your fingernail you will feel it is a raised line and not a crack. Careful inspection shows it does not run into the glass but on the surface only. This is a very lovely and fairly scarce item since it was only produced in 1929 and 1930. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
