Twenty cent, grey green, Cape Race Transatlantic Beacon stamp from the 1942-44 'Second Resources' issue, engraved, Coat of Arms* watermark (see scans), line perf 12.5x12.5. There are 4 perf varieties for all 14 stamps of the Second Resources issue except for perf 12.8x12.5 of the 48 cent value which has not yet been reported. The most common (normal) perforation is line perf 12.5x12.5. The Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC) by Walsh and Butt, indicates values for the other 3 perf varieties (12.5x12.8, 12.8x12.8 and 12.8x12.5) of from 10X to 25X the perf 12.5x12.5 stamp variously by stamp denomination and scarcity. Never hinged premiums vary from 2X to 5X (12.5x12.5 - 2X, 12.5x12.8 - 3X, 12.8x12.8 - 4X and 12.8x12.5 - 5X). Good color and appearance, Reasonably well centered. Approx. 30% of original gum disturbed by previous hinging, hinge remnant. Slight vertical crease mentioned for the record.
