Turquoise, Turquoise Mountain, Hachita, New Mexico.   In March, I visited Turquoise Mountain in Hachita, NM and dug some specimens on the dumps.  Much of the turquoise here forms in thin veins.  Some is very soft, but other material is hard enough to polish.   This piece is one of the latter which I finally got around to working.  It is more of a nugget than a part of  a vein, but without polishing more of it, I cannot tell how solid it is.  1  1/4 inches long.  hachita2
