Vintage/Original U.S. Forestry Fire Lookout Tower Sign. 40's-60's era US Forestry fire lookout tower sign. It reads: Notice to visitors...     this tower is maintained for the discovery of forest fires...You may climb it if you wish, but the Forest Service, United States Department of Agriculture, cannot assume any liability for accidents. For your own safety not more than four persons should be on the tower at any one time. I've a number of old Forestry signs, but i've never seen another fire lookout sign being offered to collectors. i would consider this a rare find. This metal sign is mounted on plywood and measures in total: 17" tall x 24" wide and 3/4" in width. The edges of the plywood are painted in Forestry brown, so i believe it was mounted on plywood by a Forestry employee. Found and sold as is. Please check photos carefully for more details.
